Researchers Night 2015

Our library receives its visitors with a wide variety of presentations in the 10th Researchers Night at BME!


It's the tenth ocassion that the academic world, which often mysterious and seemingly distant world shows itself to the widest public. Visitors of the Technical University can choose from 99 events on 20 different locations on 25th September, 2015.

The participants of the guided tour in the library can see the exotic architectural and structural details of the "temple of knowledge", its rolling shelf system, its underground dense storage facility, while the guides speak about the history of the library.


Scheduled tours: 16:00-17:00, 17:30-18:30, 19:00-20:00


To participate the program one needs registration.


In the Reading Room of Social and Economic Sciences (GTO) of the Library, lecturers of the Department of Philosophy and Science History invite visitors with interesting presentations:


16:00-16:50 The kitsch: the art of happiness or bad taste?
17:00-17:50 Poster Inauguration - How to decode visual messages?
18:00-18:50 Obedience, freedom, responsibility - lessons learned from the Milgram experiment
19:00-19:50 Can we act freely?
20:00-20:50 Could a robot be gendered?


The presentations can be visited without registration. In the reading room Az előadások nem regisztráció kötelesek, az olvasóterem 85 fő befogadására alkalmas.


In the Reading Room of Natural Sciences (TTO) Dr. György Farkas, professor of the Department of Structural Engineering at the Faculty of Civil Engineering speaks about the history of bridge construction from the ancient stone bridges to the modern cable bridges.


To participate the program one needs registration.
