Overdue Fees During the Summer Opening Hours

Between July 14 and August 15, 2025, overdue fees will not accumulate for items past their due dates. Outstanding debts from earlier periods can be settled during the closure by bank transfer, or in cash during opening hours. University students may also pay via the Neptun academic system.

| Attention! Changes in opening hours do not exempt users from complying with the rules set out in the Library Usage Policy.

Book Loans

Outside of opening hours, books can be borrowed using the SmartLock self-service machine, located opposite the Textbook Reading Room, next to the book return box.

During opening hours, books can be borrowed as usual.

Due to technical reasons, the online catalog is currently only accessible from home via VPN. Therefore, book requests can also be made by emailing konyvtar@bme.hu, with collection via the SmartLock machine.

Returning Books

Books can be returned independently of the library's opening hours through the book return boxes located in the University’s central building:

  • at the main entrance of Building K
  • opposite the Textbook Reading Room

Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary loan services are available during the library’s current opening hours. Requests can be submitted primarily via konyvtar.konyvtarkozi@bme.hu or through the online interlibrary loan interface. For further details, please consult with our staff.

The library continues to offer many services throughout the summer that are accessible anytime, from anywhere.
